Our roadmap to Diversity and Inclusion: iBelong

iBelong is our company-wide strategy to strengthen all aspects of our inclusiveness and diversity awareness. Through iBelong, we’ve taken some important steps, yet many more milestones lie ahead. In fact, our journey toward greater diversity and inclusion never really ends. We’re committed to continuing this journey because diversity and inclusion is what keeps Investors Bank so strong.

Talent & diversity

We have a responsibility to weave diversity and inclusion into everything we do — the people we hire and promote, the tone we set in our workplace, and the suppliers and vendors with whom we do business.

Targeted recruiting

Our diversity-specific recruiting includes listing career opportunities on over 100 job boards tied to diversity, veteran and disability organizations and partnering with numerous organizations to help attract minority candidates at Career Fairs and Networking Workshops.

Career development & retention

At Investors Bank, career development and retention are important priorities and we promote from within wherever possible. In 2019, approximately 39% of our open positions were filled internally, and we work continuously to improve our learning and development and benefits offerings to increase retention.

Learning & engagement

Our goal is to cultivate a growth mindset, where employees are encouraged to become life-long learners, encourage each other to get better every day, and through collaboration inspire each other to achieve exceptional outcomes.

Investors’ Diversity & Inclusion Council

Investors Bank has introduced a Diversity and Inclusion Council consisting of employees from around the bank. The council is an overarching group of leaders from our organization who create and execute on the plans to drive a diversity and inclusion strategy and develop the framework for implementing and impacting initiatives, programs, policies and processes.

Employee resource groups

We have an established Employee Resource Group, the Women’s Leadership Council, which was founded in 2016. This group encourages professional development through exchanging ideas as well as promoting and influencing women’s careers through networking events, leadership and communications programs, coaching and mentoring, and wellness programs.
